2019 Rohatsu Retreat
ROHATSU is the annual celebration of Buddha’s Enlightenment. We emulate his supreme effort by sitting up all night on Saturday, facing the East, where he was awakened upon seeing the morning star.
This year’s retreat is condensed into three days over the weekend, starting Friday evening.
We recommend the overnight Saturday sit for those experienced in meditation. Otherwise please attend and follow the schedule as you are able.
A special 3-hour intensive will be offered, “Unraveling the Heart of Zen,“ led by Elliston Roshi on Saturday morning, which you may attend if you are not able to attend the entire retreat.
Meals will be provided by our Tenzo.
Fees are $50 per day full day and $20 for overnight accommodations if required. All are encouraged to
attend as much of the retreat as their personal schedule allows.
Dana (Supporting the Dharma Teachers):
Please note that Dana is not included in the registration fee. Dana donation is an opportunity to express
gratitude for the teachings which have been received and allows the Teacher to pay his/her living
expenses. Therefore we will place a Dana box at our retreat. For additional thoughts about Dana please
